Engage with the IB
Lunch and Keynote for Superintendents, Heads of School, and Coordinators
Monday, November 4
Graf Center, 2020 Builder’s Place, Columbus, Ohio 43204
with Daniel Wartick, Principal of North Kansas City High School

This conversation will delve into strategies that bring the IB Diploma Progamme framework more fully into the systems of your school processes and practices. The objective of the conversation is to reframe how the IB Diploma Programme can be embedded as part of the school culture and not one of many programs that you have to manage! We will discuss various components of the IB Diploma Programme and see how they can be integrated into current initiatives that schools are balancing. We will move on the continuum of recognizing your school as an IB World School.

Dan Wartick is the Head of School at North Kansas City High School, a comprehensive public high school in North Kansas City, Missouri. The school offers both the Diploma Programme and the Career Programme. Dan has been affiliated with IB for 20 years in various roles: member of the Heads Council, workshop leader, consultant, team member and leader for school verification visits and evaluation visits. Most recently, Dan has been involved with the Equity Project focused on opening up access in IB programs. Dan's proudest accomplishment – parent of three children who went through the DP!

Working to Lower Costs & Eliminate Barriers to Access for Students Worldwide, International Baccalaureate Eliminates its Student Exam Registration Fee, from Yahoo! Finance, July 19, 2019
NEW ORLEANS , July 19, 2019 /CNW/ -- As part of a focused effort to reduce financial barriers for students and schools to participate in its unique programmes, the International Baccalaureate Organization announced today that it is eliminating the $172 "candidate registration" fee that students traditionally pay (as a cost separate from individual IB subject exams).

This decision to lower per student assessment costs is intended to help more students worldwide afford additional subject exams or pursue a full Diploma Programme, as well as help more schools join the community of more than 5000 IB schools worldwide.

"A key part of our mission is to develop for the international community youth who are well-rounded, multilingual and open-minded citizens—a new generation educated in ways that enable them to respond thoughtfully to global, national and local challenges," said International Baccalaureate (IB) Director General Dr. Siva Kumari.
