Roundtable #4: “The Language of Literature vs. the Literature of Language”

This roundtable, designed for English A1 teachers, is designed to give opportunity to explore the changes coming in Group 1 for examinations in May 2013….to compare the three different English A1 offerings—Literature, Language and Literature , and Literature and Performance, and to discuss changes to expectations and assessments. It is, of course, recommended for all DP teachers of English A1, but may also be of interest to DP coordinators and counselors, and MYP English teachers.

Presenter Theresa Biggs began her career as an Language A1 teacher in 1996, added the position of CAS Coordinator in 2000, and held the position of IB Coordinator from 2007-2009. She sat on the committee for the 2010 CAS changes in Cardiff and serves as senior reader for CAS authorizations and audits for North America. She is a workshop leader for English A1 Language and Literature, English A1 Literature, CAS and DP Coordination. She co-authored the Language A1 skills map that is currently used in the Language A1 Level 3 workshop “Backward Mapping the DP/MYP – Language A1″. She has a BA from the University of Texas and and Med from the University of North Texas.
